4.9 Audio issues and framerate drops

Recent issues updating/installing Star Citizen

RSI Launcher may crash at calculating disk space. You may see an out of space or error code 3004/3005/5006/5008
Log may show β€œ[Pipeline] Phase compute_size timed out after 60000ms, cancelling and skipping.”
Sometimes caused by a slow or unreliable network connection.

  1. Locate your Star Citizen LIVE directory.
  2. Create a new empty file in your LIVE directory named Data.p4k.part
  3. If you’re installing the game for the first time, also create a new empty file named Data.p4k
  4. Re-launch the game and try the update or verify again.

Troubleshooting Steps

First things to try

  1. Make sure our LUG Helper’s Preflight Check passes all checks.
  2. Make sure all prerequisites from the Quick Start Guide are satisfied on your system.
  3. Make sure you are not trying to install to an NTFS-formatted drive.
  4. Be sure you haven’t changed the default install path in the RSI Launcher settings. If you wish to install the game elsewhere, put the entire wine prefix there instead.
  5. Kill all wine processes and re-launch a fresh instance of the game: Open a Wine maintenance shell then run wineserver -k
  6. Look for your issue in the latest news
  7. Use the lug helper to get the latest wine runner. Be sure to check the latest news for recommendations
  8. Try a different wine version. If using wine-staging, try standard wine. Try wine-staging if using standard wine.
  9. Disable any system performance customizations, VPN profiles, etc that may interfere with the game.
  10. Look for your issue/error in the categories on this page. Refer to the steps directly below to gather logs.

  1. Run the LUG Helper and select the Maintenance and Troubleshooting menu.
  2. Select the Show logs option.
  3. Click on the relevant log to open it directly.

    You can find the hashes for productid and deploymentid in your LIVE/EasyAntiCheat/Settings.json

View game files

  • Default location
    ~/Games/star-citizen/drive_c/Program Files/Roberts Space Industries/StarCitizen
  • Use the LUG Helper to find your game files
    1. Select Maintenance and Troubleshooting > Display Helper and Star Citizen Directories
    2. Click on the link to your game directory
